Introduction

There was a study done some years back, it tied Vocabulary to I.Q.

The study states that as one’s vocabulary increases, so does that person’s I.Q.

The meaning is clear – knowing more words can actually make you smarter.  How cool is that?  So why don’t we all just sit and read dictionaries?  Why, because we need more input than that.  But words are powerful, case in point:

Tell a child everyday that they are smart and talented and before long they will believe you and begin to achieve amazing things.  If you were to say “if you keep playing basketball like that you’ll end up in the NBA.  Or if you keep studying science like that, you’ll end up working at NASA.”  And quess what, he will!

Words form beliefs, they are Ideals, images that touch both the mind and the spirit.

On the other hand, tell that same child that “he’s a loser, he’s never going to be anything and he’ll most likely end up in jail.”  Guess what, that is just where he will go.

Another study showed that in nearly every single case of violence, that would be crimal violence, assaults, rapes, murders and domestic abuse – in every single one of them – the violence began with words.  Angry words, swear words, hate words.

We are as we speak, our thoughts are gaged by our ability or inability to express them.

So, watch your words, my friends.  They say much more than you think about not only who you are but what you stand for in your life.
